Personal Details
Who I am
Associate Professor of General, Clinical and Pediatric Nursing Sciences, Obstetrics, Gynecology and Neonatal Sciences (SSD MEDS/24-C) at Link Campus University in Rome.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to teach Nursing Sciences and Research Methodology at various universities, both in Italy and abroad. Among these, the University of Rome Tor Vergata, the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, the University of Bologna, the University of Molise and the Catholic University Our Lady of Good Counsel of Tirana in Albania.
My clinical experience extends to the oncohematological area and advanced oncological surgery, with roles of nursing coordination. At the same time, I have coordinated and continue to coordinate numerous research projects, both nationally and internationally, and I have published over 60 articles in prestigious scientific journals.
My recent work focuses on the patient-caregiver dyad and how it copes with chronic diseases. These studies have been published in journals such as the International Journal of Nursing Studies, the Journal of Advanced Nursing, the Journal of Clinical Nursing and Value in Health. My contributions have led to the development of tools to measure self-care behaviors and to a better understanding of the care needs of patients and caregivers in the context of multiple chronic diseases.
I have been awarded by the Italian Society of Nursing Sciences for the best research in my field and my current research interests include self-care and the role of family caregivers in the management of chronic diseases in the elderly, with a dyadic and international comparative approach.
In addition to my academic activity, I hold prominent roles in several associations: I am President of the Cultural Association Alumni Ph.D. Nursing & Public Health of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Vice President of the Transcultural Nursing Association and member of the Board of the Junior Policy Officers of the European Specialist Nurses Organisation. I am also part of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Joanna Briggs Institute - Centre of Excellence for Nursing Research.
